Within the project of technical assistance of FR Germany to quality infrastructure institutions in the Republic of Serbia, from October 21-22, 2014, in the premises of Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals was held seminar on the new Measuring instruments Directive (MID) and the new Directive on Non-automatic weighing instruments (NAWI).

Seminar was conducted by Dr. Urlike Fuchs from the National Metrology Institute of Austria (BEV – Bundesamt für Eich-und Vermessungswesen). Seminar was attended by representatives of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals, Quality Infrastructure Sector of the Ministry of Economy, Republic of Serbia, as well as the Accreditation Body of Serbia.

Topics to which MID/NAWI Seminar were particularly focused to were: Comparative review of the old and the new MID and NAWI (what was changed, specifics for transposition and implementation); New economic operators; New requirements for notified body in new MID and NAWI (how to meet these requirements in practice); Issues on independence and impartiality (implementation in practice).
