BIM and DMDM Collaboration through the Peer Visit

In Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals (DMDM) on November 4 and 5, 2014 was realized the peer assessment – Peer Visit by the technical experts of the Bulgarian National Institute of Metrology (BIM), in the fields of photometry, volume and flow rate and length.

Based on EURAMET Project No. 1208 and EURAMET Guide for on Site Visits, peer assessment was carried out according to the standard ISO/IEC 17025: 2006, checking out management requirements as well as technical requirements of calibration laboratories in the mentioned areas for published calibration and measurement capabilities (CMCs) in BIPM database KCDB and for CMCs that are in the review process, or its registration to Regional Metrology Organization is planned in the near future. Two-day assessment was passed in a collegial atmosphere, through an interactive operation and exchange of expertise. The observations, which are the basis for the improvement of quality management system, are given in the report of the Peer Visit, and the results of this assessment will serve as a basis for re-evaluation of the quality system of the Directorate at the TC-Q meeting in Prague in March 2015.

Conducted assessment of quality management system in DMDM, represents implementation of the third phase of envisaged annual alternating assessment of quality systems of BIM and DMDM, according to EURAMET Project No. 1208, till 2015.
