Pupils of International School of Belgrade (ISB) Visiting Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals

Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals had a pleasure to host pupils of International School of Belgrade (ISB) on April 18, 2012.

Welcome to the “house of measurements”, in which the most precise and accurate measurements are performed, wished the guests Mrs. Vida Živkovic, M.Sc., Director.

Pupils are than addressed by Mr. Boris Laštro, Assistant Director, who gave a presentation on the use of optical means for measuring the length and time.

Professional visit continued tour of Directorate laboratories, in which national standards of SI units are kept and where the most accurate methods of calibrations are applied for dissemination of SI unit values to end users and for establishment of link with international standards.

Interesting part of the visit contributed to the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals metrologists display of standard and measuring equipment and work in laboratories for testing and calibration. They were happy to answer questions from visitors to their sphere of interest.

We wish that dear guests from ISB with this visit to our institution acquire knowledge about the importance of accurate measurements in everyday life.
